From today onwards, the Lions will come together for the preparation training before the centralized training begins on the 10th of August.
Other than those being involved in their club duties, most of the 23 players reported to the session led by coach Bernd Stange with the late omission of Tampines Rovers defender Shaiful Esah who is replaced by Warriors FC's Zulfadli Zainal Abidin due to an injury sustained on his right knee cartilage (according to the FAS media release).

Said the 65-year-old after the session:"The players are happy with the training and I am glad that we are following the right direction, but it takes time as it's a step-by-step process.
Coach Stange talks to the media after the session |
"What we need now is more confidence in ourselves to play the passing and dominating football since we are lacking in physical, which is why I hope we can have a full capacity (crowd) when we play Oman to give us that confidence, motivation to do so."said the former Belarus coach.
The Lions are scheduled to play the Omanis on the 14th of August at the Jalan Besar Stadium follow by friendly matches away to Hong Kong and China.
